IDEA -- Integrated Development Environment lets INGRES applicationdevelopers build cohesive applications across multiple platforms.With IDEA's Dynamic Menu Tool, INGRES database administrators can buildcustom or default menu structures for any valid INGRES users of adatabase. The menus are unique for each database configured. They areconfigurable to be common or unique for each user. Each of the end pointson the menu can also be configured uniquely by user. All of thisconfiguration is performed through the System Administration Functionsupplied with the DMT.With IDEA's Dynamic Query Tool, users can be given access to databaseinformation in a restrictive manner. System administrators can grant anycombination of query, update, insert, or delete privileges on a table orjoined to individual users.These tools provide application integration without development ofadditional source modules.
